How I work

Three ways I work with people. Most clients use one. Some use a combination. The first conversation usually tells us which.

Counselling / مشاوره

For people moving through a specific challenge — a transition, a loss, a relationship that’s gone quiet in the wrong way, the weight of immigration, a hard season at work.

Counselling is shorter and more focused than therapy. We name what you’re dealing with, we look at it together, and we move toward what you want next. Most people come for somewhere between six and twelve sessions — sometimes more, sometimes fewer.

If you’ve never seen a therapist before, this is usually where to start.

Therapy / درمان

For people carrying something longer or deeper — trauma, PTSD, depression that won’t lift, anxiety that won’t quiet, patterns that keep repeating in your relationships.

Therapy is depth work. We don’t only treat the symptom; we look at the system around it — your history, your body, your family, the culture you came from. I draw on what’s evidence-based (cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, attachment-based) and on what older traditions have always known about healing.

Neurofeedback / نوروفیدبک

For when your nervous system needs its own kind of help.

Neurofeedback is brain-training using EEG. You wear a light sensor cap; a computer reads what your brain is doing; you watch a screen, and your brain learns to regulate itself in ways talking cannot reach. It’s especially effective for anxiety that lives in the body, ADHD, sleep that won’t come, PTSD, and chronic focus problems.

I’m one of very few therapists in BC who combine neurofeedback with therapy. For many clients, the two together do more than either alone.

Sessions, fees, insurance

Sessions are $150 CAD for 60 minutes, in person or online.

I direct-bill ICBC, CVAP, FNHA, IFHP, VAC, and RCMP. Most private insurance plans (Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Great-West Life, Green Shield, and others) reimburse with a receipt — call or text me if you’re not sure about yours and I’ll help you find out in two minutes.
